Encountering the God Who Loves You
A Lenten Retreat
“All Christians are invited to a ‘renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ.’ Christ calls all people to himself in his Body, the Church, through the workings of the Holy Spirit, so that we can enter into a personal relationship with God the Father.”
-Living as Missionary Disciples: Page 31
*This retreat normally runs throughout Lent each year, but please
reach out to the Parish Office if you are interested in doing this retreat outside of Lent*
Join me for a 10 week Lenten Retreat. Using the spiritual guidance of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Parish will be offering a ten week Lenten Spiritual Experience. This will be a personal spiritual experience for those who wish to embark on this journey to grow in love with a God who is so madly in love with you. As I have said before, growing in any relationship takes time. I am inviting you to take some time with the Lord. The experience will require the retreatant to:
-
Find time each day for guided prayer (half hour up to an hour) reflecting on a predetermined scripture passage and journaling.
-
Meet once a week with your small group. Virtual options could be available.
-
Write a brief spiritual profile and participate in an individual meeting with your group leader over the course of the 10 weeks.
Small groups will gather for 10 sessions to reflect or share on your own personal experience of:
- Introduction into St. Ignatius and Ignatian Spirituality
- Love, Freedom and Purpose
- Finding God in All Things
- Something’s Broken
- Knowing Jesus
- What do I really Want?
- The Public Ministry of Jesus
- The Suffering Jesus
- God’s Love and Our Response
- Gathering of Graces from the Retreat & What Next
The retreat will begin at the end of February and will conclude right around Easter Sunday.
