FYI: We checked with our bank who told us that they would need at least 24 hours to obtain euros in order to convert from dollars. Might want to check with your bank now.
Also, from an earlier travel blog, the suggestion has been made that if you are traveling with a debit card, it should be connected with an account with a small sum of money and perhaps not your “regular” debit card. If the card is lost or stolen and folks finding it can figure out how to access your money, it’s essentially gone with little recourse. So you may wish to set up a travel debit card with just enough for travel expenses.
