SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

A spiritual director's purpose is to help people grow closer to God and deepen their relationship with Him. Through one-on-one meetings and individual guidance, the following points are addressed:

• Help people discover God's presence

  Spiritual directors help people become aware of God's action in their lives, and how God is working in them. 

• Help people grow in faith

  Spiritual directors help people grow in intimacy with God, and learn to listen and respond to Him. 

• Help people discover their gifts

  Spiritual directors help people discover the gifts God has given them, and how to use them in the world. 

• Help people develop a relationship with God

  Spiritual directors help people develop a relationship with God through prayer and discernment. 

• Be a companion on the journey

  Spiritual directors are companions on the journey of life, providing support and feedback through listening. 

 

Spiritual direction is a confidential, ongoing conversation between a Spiritual Director and the person being directed. Some questions that may be helpful to consider when talking to a Spiritual Director include:

• Where am I seeing God in my life right now?

• How is God working in my life?

• What am I doing to nourish my faith/prayer life?

• What part of my spiritual life needs strengthening?
